AImotive established in 2015 is based out of Budapest, Hungary and is one of the largest independent teams in the world working on automated driving technologies. The company also has offices in Mountain View, California; and Yokohama, Japan.

On June 22, 2020 the company announced a new investment round of USD 20 million. With this fresh capital AImotive has become the largest VC-backed company developing automated driving technology in Europe, with total funding to date of USD 75 million. Existing investors such as Robert Bosch Venture Capital, B Capital Group, Prime Ventures, Inventure, Samsung Catalyst Fund and – Draper Associates all increased the size of their investment in this new round and were joined by new Budapest based investors – Lead Ventures and Széchenyi Venture Fund – to support the future growth of the company.

With the help of the newly secured funding, AImotive will continue its international expansion by opening offices in the automotive capitals of Munich, Germany; and Detroit, USA. AImotive will be further accelerating its efforts to ensure that automated driving is not only a feature of luxury vehicles, but a life-saving technology that is available to all.

The company is also working to advance its automated valet parking solution to save drivers from the hassle of parking completely, by allowing them to exit their vehicle at the entrance of a supported parking lot. The scalable automated valet parking solution for closed parking structures is being developed in cooperation with HERE Technologies and Vodafone.
